Troubled by so many conflicting messages by those around him on how to receive salvation for his soul, young Joseph Smith determined to inquire of the Lord in prayer himself. Guided by the Lord’s promise, he believed that he would in fact receive the truth he sought if he were to ask with a sincere heart. Little did he know, his earnest plea would be met by the Lord Himself in His glory. Joseph, instructed that the Lord’s gospel was polluted by men, was promised that at some future time the truth in its fulness and purity would be made known to him. Little did he know, that his simple question meant for himself would in time lead him to take part in the Lord’s marvelous work and a wonder, restoring truth of the Lord’s salvation to the world.
